Comprehensive Eye Exams

A comprehensive eye examination includes a number of tests and procedures to evaluate the health of your eyes. These tests range from simple ones, like having you read an eye chart, to complex tests, such as using high-powered lenses to examine the inside of your eyes. A complete evaluation is called a comprehensive eye examination and includes the following services.

Patient History

A reasonably thorough patient history begins the examination process.

General Medical Observation

Assessment of the visual status by simply reading the eye chart or attaining measurements from an autorefractor.

Visual Fields

Visual field status using both automated and manual examination techniques.

Tonometry

Tonometry to measure the intraocular pressure of the eye.

Ocular Examination with Biomicroscopy

This produces a magnified view of the of the structures of the eye. The clinical information gained is used to evaluate the eyes for signs of eye disease.

Treatment Plan

Prescribing a treatment plan designed to optimize both your vision and overall ocular health.
